Seahawk Drilling - J/U Pride Wyoming Rig Salvage
The Pride Wyoming, a Bethlehem JU-250-MS design mat rig, was jacked up on location at SS 283A when Hurricane Ike passed in September 2009. The rig was destroyed, leaving debris in three separate blocks. WWCI contracted Global Diving & Salvage, Inc. to assist in the prep, salvage and site clearance of all rig components including ancillary debris removal.
The D/B Superior Performance provided heavy lift support in GOM Block EI 107. The previously sectioned hull was successfully recovered from 40 fsw.
A saturation dive crew performs underwater burning and heavy lift operations to salvage the legs and deck section of the platform at the original drill site, Ship Shoal Block 283.
L/B Superior Endurance joins Pride Wyoming Team on GOM Block EI 107 to dismantle the Pride Wyoming debris into heavy lift sections for the D/B Superior Performance to recover
The D/B Superior Performance, mobilized with surface divers, is on station at GOM Block SS 156 to perform rigging and heavy lift operations for the recovery of the Mud Mat sections.
Surface divers on board the L/B Superior Intervention section the Pride Wyoming hull for recovery. This phase included 613 dives.
Divers prepared the J/U Pride Wyoming hull for removal by sectioning them into 600ton lifts and strategically positioned them on mud mats for future removal. This phase took place at GOM Block SS 156, and it consisted of 411 dives in 70fsw.
