When a bulk carrier suffered an anchor entanglement on the swiftly flowing Amazon River in Brazil, Global’s salvage experts responded quickly. Working closely with the vessel owner, captain and local resources, the team completed the complex process of unfouling the anchor chains; the vessel was able to continue her voyage and fulfill her contract at the next port of call.

Global provided two salvage experts who traveled to the Amazon to manage, coordinate, supervise and execute the operation. Working with the vessel owner, the vessel agent and local assets, our experts guided the vessel captain and local vendors through the tedious process of safely untangling the chains in the fast-moving river. Once the vessel’s anchor was in working order, she was able to continue to her next port of call.
