PROJECT DETAIL
Global Diving & Salvage, Inc. provided saturation diving from the DSV Ocean Carrier to assist with the location of and removal of a paraffin blockage in an oil flow line. The location of the blockage was identified by use of a strain gauge, which works by accurately measuring the expansion of the existing pipeline when it is put under pressure. Measurements were taken along the 20,000 foot pipeline alignment. Once the plug was located, the pipe was hot tapped and the blockage flushed out. Depth of the work ranged from 320 to 400 feet.
